First day of MDO

Chase had his first day at Mother's Day Out. He is attending WEE Care at First (First Baptist Church). Chase tends to be a bit clingy and reserved when meeting new people or entering a new enviroment, so I was very hesitant to how he would react. I hoped and prayed that he would transition well and enjoy his time. There have only been about 4 days that he has not been with me since he was born, so this was a tough transition for both of us. I know he will LOVE this and it will be great for him, but it's sad for mommy to have to let her little boy go (a little bit).

I spoke to him multiple times about where he was going to go, how he would make new friends, play with new toys, learn about God, and have two new teachers.....but of course I don't really know how much he understands of this.

I HAD to get some photos of him before we left, and he was so excited to have his lunchbox and backpack...and his amazing napmat made with love from his Gramma was already packed away in the car ready to go. I got there to drop him off and I handed my little guy over to Mrs. Betsy and to my surprise, he did not cry! He reached back for me, but I reassured him that I would pick him up after lunch, gave him a kiss and walked away... I was able to hold myself together until I got about haf way to my car...then I lost it! It was the longest half day of myt life, and I could't wait to pick him up! The teachers said he did great, ate all of his lunch, napped on the floor with his nap mat (first time to not sleep in a pack and play or his crib), and played well with everyone...and never cried! I am so proud of him, I know this had to be just as tough on him and it was me. We'll see how Thursday goes!
