Viva Las Vegas!

We took a quick trip to Las Vegas since Brad had to be there on Monday for work, and since my shop is closed Sunday and Monday, I got to go along with him!

These first few pictures are inside the Bellagio...it was very pretty!

We didn't gamble much...didn't win anything! :-(

This picture was inside the Wynn...it was really pretty too.

We had dinner Sunday night at the Paris Hotel at the top of the Eiffel Tower, it was gorgeous...we got to see the fountains at the Bellagio go off every 30 minutes.

Las Vegas now has the OHH SO GOOD Serendipity! You may have seen it in the movie...or in New York. They have wonderful food, and AMAZING frozen hot chocolate (we highly reccomend it if you haven't tried it). We ate a quick lunch here before heading to the airport.

Overall, it was a great time! We walked A LOT! and saw a lot in a short amount of time.

Loving the pool!

This summer we bought the dogs a kiddie pool. They absolutely love it, and spent quite a bit of time in it when it was 100 degrees outside. Here are a few pics of Moose and Piper.

Home Improvement Time!

Well...it's that time...we've been our house for a few years now, and it seems that it is time to make some home improvements... Our first project was to get another tree. The tree on the left was put in right after we moved in, and the one on the right, we put in thr ground a few weeks ago. Luckily a good friend of mine works at a great nursery in Marion, TX and was able to get us a great deal. Our next project was the doorbell..it randomly went out, so Brad fixed it. Next was something that we had been wanting to do for a long time, but just got around to it. We stained our fence! One of our neighbors has a paint shop in NB and he mixed us up the perfect color! We spend about 9 total hours (over two days) in one weekened power washing the fence to get it clean...then the next weekend we sprayed on the color. I love it!

The before picture...

After! It's a dark brown..it might be hard to see, but it looks great!

It's Fall!

I love this time of year...especially getting to decorate! One of my best friends owns an ADORABLE shop here in New Braunfels called A Shop Around the Corner...they have tons and tons of cute things! I can't wait to decorate for Christmas...is it too early?? haha

Dove Hunting 2010

Brad was on a dove lease for this dove season and we took Piper out for her 2nd year! She did great, and loves it more than anything in the world....besides food! Haha! She will be 2 years old in December and is weighing in around 65 pounds. She is a sweet girl, with LOTS of energy!

Brynlee Turns ONE!

It's hard to believe that one year ago our sweet little niece Brynlee was born. This weekend was her 1st Birthday Party, and we wouldn't have missed it for the world! She is growing like a weed...it's been so fun to watch her grow and learn so many new things. We wish we got to see everyone more though...can't wait to see ya'll again soon! Here are a few photos from her party. Say CHEESE!
Jana decorated Brynlee's birthday cake...it was ADORABLE...and YUMMY!
Blowing Bubbles...or watching the big kids blow bubbles.

No toobin' on the Guadalupe today!

For those of you who haven't heard or aren't here to see.... Around 9:30 last night we began to have crashing thunder, lightening, and pouring rains...normally this lasts a short time and is gone...well, not this time. It continued ALL night long, and around 7:30 when it still was coming down, we decided not to open the cupcakery today. Roads, homes, and shops are flooded all around the New Braunfels area. San Antonio got some of the rain, but it decided to stay put on top of the good ol' NB. We haven't had any major flooding since 1998 and 2002...and we find outselves here again in 2010. Some of you might remember last summer the water level was too low to be on the water due to record breaking temperatures, and absolutely NO rain. Luckily this year we have been blessed with rainfall....but this is an extreme. Most of you have been to visit Brad and I at our house and we have taken you down to the river in our neighborhood, so I am sure you remember that it does NOT normally look like this...
This is the bow of a boat... Later there were RV's and mobile homes floating down river...
Just in case you are missing your raft....here it is!
This is the top level of a boat house which normally about 20 feet away from the water. Others who live along the river either lost their boats and jet-skis, or they were pinned under water beneath the boat house.

When I took these pictures this morning, the river had risen about 17feet, it is expected to rise to around 29-30 feet above normal. It's a sad sad day for New Braunfels....
