BiG NeWs!

Some of you know, some of you don't...but Brad and I have had our share of trials and tribulations over the past three years of trying to start a family. To make a long story short, I was diagnosed with a disorder known as Pre-Mature Ovarian Failure....basically, my female reproductive organs are not functioning as they should. We aren't sure when this happened, most likely when I was in high school. We quickly learned that our only options were to go forward with In-Vito Fertilization (IVF) using an egg donor, or to adopt. Naturally, our first choice was to try IVF. Each 'round' of IVF treatment takes about a month and a half from start to finish. During this time, there are lots of medications (pills, shots), doctor appointments, ultrasounds, and so on.

We tried our first attempt at IVF and later found out that it did not work. Several months later, we tried again, and got negative results. Several months later we tried again, for what we knew would most likely be our last try and to our surprise, we got positive results. Our numbers were excellent (higher than they expected), and as we continued to check them every other day for a week, they steadily decreased, which meant we were losing the pregnancy. Our lives have been a complete rollercoaster (for lack of better term), our emotions have been all over the place. Between the second and third IVF attempt, we began to look closer at the possibility of adoption and became really excited about it. Later, when we got our negative results, we were devistated, but at the same time a little bit relieved to know that this chapter was over, and we would be beginning a new chapter...one that would have a guaranteed finish line!

So now, to get you up to date...we are excited to tell you that we have begun the process of adoption, and are working with a consultant out of Florida who will help us through every step of the way, and will hopefully make the process shorter than you are used to hearing. We have chosen to adopt domestically so that we can get a newborn. We are hoping to have our "profile" out in 5-8 agencies across the US by mid June. With this being said, we don't know how long, or short our wait for our baby will be. Most of her clients are being matched and receiving their baby between 3-12 months...sometimes even less!

Looks like our rollercoaster is still going, but we are thrilled to know that there is a perfect bundle of joy out there somewhere that we will hopefully meet sooner than later! We will definitely keep you posted as we get more information. We need lots of prayers!
