A New Endeavor

Well, it's been awhile since I last blogged, and A LOT has happened. Over the past month or so, a friend and I have decided to open a "Cupcakery" in Gruene, which is pretty much New Braunfels. The name is.....The Gruene Flour Cupcakery! Our shop is under construction, but we are going to open in about one month in a temporary location. It is one building down from where our permanent location will be. There is a cute little shopping area called Gruene Lake Village about 1/4 mile from Gruene Hall. We will specialize in cupcakes, and will serve a "brown bag special" type deal with a sandwich, chips, drink, and cupcake. We are going to have about 8 everyday flavors in both regular and mini sizes, along with a new flavor each week. We are also going to incorporate parties where children can come in and decorate their own cupcakes, how fun! It is definitely going to be a lot of work, but how fun, right!?

We had our first event this weekend where we provided about 300 mini cupcakes! Man...it was a lot of work, considering we were making them in my single oven! It sure will be nice to use a commercial size oven! The event was wonderful, and we already have other orders coming in, and we technically aren't even open yet! Please spread the word, and keep us in mind for any occasion.
