Our New Dog

Ok, ok, while most of you guys are bloging about your children, we will blog about our new dog until we have children to blog about ;-) We decided we wanted to get a dog, and decided that we wanted to adopt a Lab. I searched all options, and found a Dog/Cat Rescue in San Antonio called SNIPSA (SNIPSA.ORG). They go to the pound and look for animals to recue and then eventually adopt out. They also sometimes take animals from people who have decided they don't want them anymore. We have been very impressed with SNIPSA, and highly reccommend it to anyone interested in adopting an animal. All of the animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations when you adopt one. They live with foster families until they get adopted which is great, you can get to know the dog and the foster family sort of helps transition them for a new home. We found out about this chocolate lab, and when we saw him we loved him. We named him Moose, he is about 18 months old and weighs in at about 75 pounds right now. He is a big silly puppy. He listens well, and seems to be adjusting just fine. We will be getting a second dog, and playmate for Moose, he has a lot of energy, and will probably do better with another dog.
